Key Questions to Enhance Your Training and Nutrition

Below are some tough, honest questions you need to ask yourself if progress in training and nutrition is eluding you.

On training

How many days per week are you dedicating to upper body training?

How many days per week are you dedicating to lower body training?

Does it seem balanced?

How much volume (sets) do you perform for upper body work?

How much volume (sets) do you perform for lower body work?

Does that seem balanced?

Does your lower body lag behind your upper body in size and strength?

If so, are you performing the same training techniques for both upper and lower body training?

Is it working? If not, what do you need to do to make it work?

Is your training program giving you the results you want?

What needs to change?

On nutrition

Does your diet reflect a sound recovery strategy for your training?

Are you eating for the previous workout, or for your next workout?

What are your protein needs? Why? How did you come to that figure?

Are you getting enough complex carbohydrates and fiber in your diet?

If your goal is to lose fat and/or build muscle and strength, are you keeping a food journal?

What is your dieting goal for the rest of the year? Do you even have a goal?

Is keeping excessive fat and sugar out of your diet a goal for you?

How much water do you drink per day?

If you take supplements, are you purposely and intentionally researching each one?

Which supplements are working and which ones are not?

Are you relying on supplements too much?

Does anything need to change in your diet or supplement program/ Why?
